Poetry - Little Actor

Original Poetry and Prose by Mary Rachels

LITTLE ACTOR
Copyright, Mary Rachels

My little son,
you are a genius.
Quite positively a star.
I’m confused as who you are.

Just this morning, you were Rogers stealing space
And moving stars.
Then at midday, unveiled Tarzan
Jumping trikes
And pedal cars.

If the next act should be the Hulk,
Then I’ve quite a bit to fear
For there may not be a remnant
left of table or of chair.

I would wish a soul of Disney’s,
Mickey strong and Minnie sweet,
Who would take The Little Actor
Off to dreamland,
Fast asleep.
