Taking a Break from Chemo but …. have 5 weeks of radiation coming up
Copyright, Mary Rachels
Things are going well, thanks to Dr. DePasquale and sweet Maria and all the staff at Women’s Oncology, Chattanooga.
They are just wonderful.
The chemo has went well except for the second round. I kinda bottomed out, had strep throat, had to have two units of blood, had a kidney infection and, of course, had to be hydrated.
That one was pretty rough.
The third chemo has gone much better. I hope this means it will be easier from here on out.
I will be starting radiation on May 17th and will have to have it 5 days a week for 5 weeks. I pray it goes well. They are only doing radiation on a small area and only for 15 minutes per day. After the radiation treatments are over, I get a break! Hooray!
My son, David, and my daughter, Neva, are taking me to Gulf Shores. I am really looking forward to that. We plan to have crab claws, key lime pie and a lot of rest and healing. I will enjoy seeing my son, Dave, and his family while I am there. It should be a wonderful trip.
I’m grateful to Jerry Watson for letting us use his condo this year and grateful to my daughter-in-law Debbie for letting me borrow my son for a week. It will be wonderful to spend time with David and Dave together.
